The Second Street Improvement project addresses safety and traffic operations along the corridor from Jefferson Street to M-291. The project includes signal replacement, the addition of street lighting, intersection improvements at Second Street and Jefferson Street, curb replacement along segments of the corridor and pavement markings. There is a proposal to reduce the corridor from a four-lane section to a three-lane section from Jefferson Street to Independence Avenue.
